The Streetstyle Open is a multi-day open street contest throughout Des Moines including the world-class Lauridsen Skatepark.

Different types of contests on different types of terrain make this a unique and fun event for skaters and spectators alike

How do I register?

Most contests are free and open to all skaters. Register online at The Boardr for the “open” street contest at Lauridsen Skatepark on Saturday, September 23.

How much does it cost?

All events are free and open to the public. A small registration fee is required for contestants on Saturday, September 23 at Lauridsen Skatepark. 

Where do I stay? 

Skate DSM has secured room blocks at several area hotels. Check out the Recommended Hotels section above. 

Where do I park at Lauridsen Skatepark?

There is no dedicated parking lot for the skatepark. On-street parking is available along West River Drive at the north end of the skatepark, as well as city parking ramps and other street parking near the skatepark.  

Will food beverages be available?

Food trucks will be available at the block party at Subsect Skate Shop and at Lauridsen Skatepark. 

Do you need volunteers for the event(s)?

Yes! We are in need of several volunteers to make this event a success. Sign up to volunteer using this FORM and someone from Skate DSM will be in touch as soon as possible to provide further details.
